Humanize Your Site with Instant MessagingIf you go to any of my websites, you'll see my Live Helper buttons. The text changes, depending on whether I'm online. When you click it, you can chat with me unless I'm offline, and then it will send your message by email. This is probably the best type of customer service tool you can have on your website. People love being able to talk to a real person! I use the HumanClick program and it's much, much more than instant messaging. It also monitors visitors' activities from the minute they enter your website. It tracks their progress through each page as well as counts how many minutes each page is visited. It also tells you where the visitor clicked from, and shows their IP address and host. If they clicked from a search engine, it shows what terms they searched with in that engine. If they were following a link from a website, that site appears as "referrer." HumanClick basically allows you to see traffic stats in real time. It doesn't store it anywhere, but you can see most of the same information on your logs. I highly recommend trying out the free version of HumanClick on your computer. It's very easy to install, but I'm available to walk you through it if you have any trepidation. Basically the program just sits in the tray next to the clock and turns itself on whenever you're online. You can tell it to show you as offline if you don't want to be disturbed. If you choose "away" status it will show you as offline, but still will signal you whenever someone comes visiting. Wondering if you have to be online a lot to take full advantage of this technology? Not really. An hour a day is sufficient. You could have it on while you read and write emails or surf the Net. If you're only online for a few minutes a day, the HumanClick button can serve as a secondary email button. Very often people click mine because they're in a hurry and don't see my regular email link. If you would like to humanize your site, visit www.humanclick.com to sign up and download the program. Note: I am not affiliated with HumanClick, nor do I receive any monetary reward for getting you to sign up. I'm just a satisfied customer! |
