How to Put an Internal Search
Engine On Your Site 

You probably think of search engines as being websites which let you search for stuff on the web. But there's another kind – the internal search engine. 

You may have visited sites which had a search box so you could search for an particular phrase. This allows you to find a page more quickly without having to rely strictly on the site's navigational buttons. 

So... should your site have its own search engine? 

Atomz.com says, "One-third of all Web users start their visit by searching your site." 

So... if you want

• your visitors to be able to find information on your site quickly 
• your visitors to be able to interact with your site 
• to get a report each week on what people searched for
• to know what people look for in order to fine-tune your site navigation
